Solar Incentives

Federal Tax Credit

30% tax credit for homeowners

The Federal Tax Credit for residential solar arrays expires at the end of 2025. Solar arrays must be both installed and paid for by December 31st, 2025 to qualify for the tax credit.

Given the growing popularity of residential solar, it is unlikely that the federal solar tax credit will ever be reinstated. Fortunately, given the decreasing costs of solar panels and array materials, especially in the face of steadily increasing electricity costs, adding solar to your home will still pay for itself relatively quickly and then provide free electricity for decades to come.
